  • interested in inducing lactation or supplemental feeding

  • with a history of infant feeding challenges, such as low milk supply

  • transgender and/or queer parents preparing to chestfeed and/or have multiple people feed from their bodies

  • expecting multiples

  • with a history of breast or chest surgery

  • with suspected or confirmed breast hypoplasia

  • anticipating a baby with health concerns, preterm delivery, or NICU admission

NICU Support

Victoria General Hospital

Most suitable for parent(s):

  • with a pre-term baby

  • with an infant in NICU struggling with low-birth weight and/or poor weight gain

  • preparing to transition home from the NICU

Postpartum Consultations + Care

Victoria General Hospital or In-home

Most suitable for parent(s):

  • with an infant who has a suspected or confirmed tongue-tie

  • struggling with milk production (low supply or oversupply)

  • with an infant with low birth weight and/or poor weight gain

  • experiencing challenging breast/chest feeding due to a painful latch, a dependence on nipple shield to maintain latch, or other feeding issues

  • with an infant with a medical condition or genetic difference needing extra feeding support and planning

Services Covered by MSP

  • When: prenatal up to 6 weeks postpartum

  • How: healthcare provider provides a referral by completing the referral form

Private pay consultations

  • When: after 6 weeks postpartum

  • How: client completes the contact form
